6 Simple Ways to Refresh Your Beauty Routine
Whether you are a career woman or a busy mom, you probably have the same old beauty routine you have been sticking to for years. And why shouldn’t you? You know it works for you, it saves you a ton of time, you know exactly how much time you need to spend on it, and there are no unpleasant surprises. However, showing up at the office or taking your kids to school while wearing the same look day after day, year after year can become rather boring. If you wish to spice things up, get out of that rut, and change your look at least a bit, consider refreshing your beauty routine. This doesn’t mean you should throw away your beauty products and start from scratch, but it does mean adding a few new things to your beauty arsenal. And who wouldn't want another excuse to buy more makeup, right?

Feeling Beautiful Inside and Out! #beauty #cosmetics
I've never been one to wear a lot of make-up. Just a little here and there to accent my natural features. Lucky for me I have bright eyes that don't need alot of color to shine, and lips that have a good natural color too, and only need a layer of gloss for them to stand out. But some days I want to show off a little more than just my eyes and lips so I go all out and "do myself up good" so I can feel extra beautiful inside and out.

COVERGIRL and CLAIROL make beautiful fast and easy!
When it comes to wearing makeup I've always said less is more. I'm not a big fan of spending hours in the bathroom in the morning doing my makeup to just be home all day as a homemaker. I do however like to do a little so I don't look like I just drug myself out of bed at three in the afternoon when someone rings the doorbell. I've found that by applying a little something to my eyes does the trick. A little bit of mascara or eyeliner and it brightens up my face in a wonderful way. COVERGIRL has an excellent line of eye makeup to choose from and it has long lasting wear that I love!
Some days I do take it one step further and add a little big of color to my face and lips. I mean I don't want the world thinking I never get out of the house with my sometimes very pale skin. I don't like the cold weather so as soon as it drops I lose alot of my outdoors my sunshine time. The TruBlend Serving Sculpt Contour Palettes from COVERGIRL allow me to enhance my natural features and add a little color in the process. And a few swipes of lipstick really brighten things up too. The Exhibitionist Cream Lipstick line comes in 48 shades so they have something for every season and occasion! I prefer to stick to the lighter shades unless I'm going out somewhere special and a darker shade really goes with my outfit.
Of course every once in a while we have to go all out and start from the base and go all out. For those times I rely on COVERGIRL's TruBlend It's Lit Concealer and TruBlend Base Business lines. They help me cover up those slight imperfections and even out my skin-tone. I don't claim to be any sort of makeup professional so when I say these are easy to use then you should take my word for it.
And for those of us that enjoy a trip to the salon to get our hair dyed this next product is a must. It's an awesome line from CLAIROL called Temporary Root Touch-Up. It's a concealing powder that blends with your existing hair color. In a matter of seconds you can touch up those roots that always seem to peek through before you're ready for your next visit to the salon. This one has been one of my favorites to try out because I don't like to run to the salon as soon as the first sign of my original hair color starts to peek out. I'm sure many can relate that would get quite costly to do and having a temporary fix that's much more affordable is a better plan.

Plums the color for Fall
Have you heard, plums the color for fall! Fall is probably my second favorite time of the year (after summer that is). I just love the way it looks outside when the leaves are changing colors. It's really quite beautiful out here in the country. The darker colors make a really nice background for photos too. So I guess I would have to agree that plum is a hot color for fall. What better way to celebrate fall, and the color plum than with bold looks from Sally Hansen and Rimmel London. I'm all about changing up my make-up colors with the seasons so I was pretty excited about adding these new colors to my collection.

Hold onto summer just a little longer!
I don't know about you but for me it seems like summer (or at least summer vacation) goes by way too fast. Being a parent my idea of what I call summer is from the end of the school year until the start of the next school year. I know the actual season of summer goes well into September but for me it really feels like it ends mid August when school starts back up. So for me, to hold onto summer a little longer I've chosen to do little things to help remind myself that it's not over quite yet.

Get your Glam on the Go with Face In A Case
Sometimes we don't have room for all those "things" we think we need when we are on the go. Yet we still try to cram them all into our purse or daybag so we have them with us. My biggest thing is when I go to the gym I like to touch up my makeup when I'm done. Because you never know who you might run into in the parking lot on the way to your car right? Of course there are times I'm headed to do other errands after so it's a little more justified then. That's what got me excited about find Face In A Case.

Project Mc2 makes science fun and rewarding! @ProjectMc2
About Project Mc2:
Project Mc2 follows a team of six super-smart and seriously cool girls who use S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) to complete missions for the secret organization, NOV8 (that's “innovate”!). Project Mc2 is the first S.T.E.A.M. based girl’s franchise and brand that includes fun experiment sets, fashionable real-girl inspired dolls and is also an Emmy -nominated Netflix original series! The show and toy line inspire curiosity and learning through S.T.E.A.M inspired play themes we know girls already love! Smart is the New Cool!
Because we love to craft, and everyone knows that science can only be fun as you make it we recently took on the challenge of trying out some kits from the Project Mc2 spring line. We knew between the two of us my daughter and I would make the kits fun!
My daughter couldn't get her hands on the Project Mc2 H2O Nail Science Kit fast enough when it arrived. She was ready to tear into the box before I even had a chance to finish unpacking everything. It was the kit she specifically picked out so I told her we could do it first when it arrived. And she made sure I stuck to that! After we unpacked all of the parts and set them all out we read through the directions to see what else we needed. The kit does not come with some basic supplies so you'll have to get these to use it: cotton swabs, tape, batteries for the light and nail dryer and nail polish. I recommend using the most basic plain Jane nail polish you have, nothing fancy like gel or speed dry. Once we had all of our necessary supplies we followed along step by step and made a nice mess..no I'm not kidding we had nail polish all over my daughters fingers and the table. The first polish we tried was speed dry and it did not work out well. So we cleaned it all off and started over with some basic nail polish. Much better results this time. Still a little messy, but as you can see she got some nice swirls on her nails.
The jury is still out on this one as far as what we thought of it. We plan to try it again with some lighter colored polish and not quite so much of it in the bowl to see how it works. We did learn some things like different types of nail polish react differently in water. Some don't spread out as well as others. We also learned you need to clean up everything as soon as you're done and not leave nail polish inside of the droppers overnight as it makes it harder to get out. On the overall we had fun exploring the set together and really that's all that matters right!?

The next set we tried out was one that also came with a doll that represented one of the girls from Project Mc2. This was really cool because while we were waiting on the kits to arrive we had actually started watching the show on Netflix so my daughter knew all about her character. Camryn definitely has her own sense of style so the tie-dye project was definitely fitting for her. For this project we used a pair of white canvas sneakers, permanent markers, and alcohol. Pretty basic stuff really, and we already had white sneakers so we didn't even need to pick them up. Basically you make whatever patterns you like on a pair of sneakers (or other canvas item) with the markers, then use a dropper to put drops of alcohol onto the colors. It's really like magic to watch as the shoes transform from having basic colored circles (in the case of this pair) into a whole different look. You can even go back and add more color/alcohol later to change the colors or fill in areas it didn't reach.
This was my favorite project to do because not only was it fun, but now I have a fun pair of tie dyed sneakers to wear too!
We also received a make-up science kit where you use different colors of crayons to make fun lipstick and eye-shadows that you can actually wear! And we got a second doll set that teaches you how to make gummies or soaps using the included recipes and mold!
These are the kinds of things I really enjoy getting for my daughter because they not only are fun for her to play with, but they are also teaching her something at the same time. It gives us quality bonding time together too which is always a bonus in my opinion when it comes to crafting.

Doe Deere Catapults Lime Crime To New E-Commerce Heights
E-commerce happens to be the wave of the future,
at least that's how a lot of people believe shopping will continue to expand.
Selling cosmetics online has never been easy, but Lime Crime has exploded on to
the scene, thanks to the vision of its creative founder Doe Deere.
The Russian born entrepreneur is quite savvy when
it comes to computers, technology, social media and successfully building a
brand online. Doe Deere sat down with IdeaMensch to talk beauty shop and why she introduced Lime Crime makeup to the
world in 2008.
While growing up in Russia, Doe Deere was an inquisitive child and one
who was always playing with bright colors, expressing herself with makeup and
unique fashion. She even sold temporary tattoos to her young classmates as a
tween.
At age 17, Doe Deere moved to New York City and
found that the world really was her oyster. She dabbled in fun and artistic
pursuits, including sewing her own fashion for an Ebay store, as well as
joining a band. It was there that she met her musician husband Mark, who serves
as Lime Crime's president.
Doe Deere launched Lime Crime, because even a
metropolis as huge as NYC was lacking in fun, vibrant makeup. She saw an open
category in cosmetics and courageously debuted her independent makeup company.
The brand name has stuck, and as Doe Deere laughs, it is a very
"Google-able" name.
All one has to do is open a palette of Lime Crime
makeup and gaze at the crazy radical colors. You won't find any other cosmetics
quite like Lime Crime's in the universe. Imagine liquid matte lipsticks that
scream "look at me" in crazy a** shades like Gold Metallic, Cement,
Squash, Alien Green, Shroom and others.
Selling lipstick online sounds almost futile,
because it's hard to nail color exactly, but Doe Deere found a way. While other
makeup companies offered women merely a lipstick shade swiped on a blank piece
of paper, Doe Deere upped the beauty game.
Lime Crime features the "'on-lip' lipstick
swatch: when you show color not just crushed or swiped on a blank piece of
paper, but on the actual lips," she explains. That makes a major
difference in how you see the makeup, so vivid and real. Doe Deere says her
brand is the pioneer behind that on-lip swatch that other companies have now
copied.
Doe Deere also enjoys engaging her global fan base. Lime Crime's Instagram page now boasts more than 2.8 million
followers. Her fans are makeup-obsessed and appreciate makeup that's bold,
modern and edgy. The brand doesn't follow rules and creates lipsticks, eye
shadows and liners that bring fantasy and sex to the picture. There is glitter,
crystals, iridescence and all kinds of naughty pretty in Lime Crime palettes.
Doe Deere developed Lime Crime to offer women and
men an alternative makeup brand that empowers them. Lime Crime are not classic
cosmetics but bright colors that allow the wearer to re-define beauty
boundaries.

It's time to get those nails ready for Spring!
I don't know about you but I tend to change not only the colors of clothing I wear based on season, but also the colors of nail polish I wear too. I think this is especially true when it comes to spring because I have always associated it with lighter and more pastel colors. Maybe because pretty much everything Easter related is pastel, or maybe because it's a calm season. Either way for me it's time to break out the pinks, blues, purples, etc. and give myself a new look. I mean every girl deserves a little self pampering now and then right? And one of my favorite nail care brands Sally Hansen just happens to have some really awesome spring colors!
My daughter saw me with my new nail polish colors and immediately begged to paint my toe nails. I figured since it wasn't quite sandal weather yet why not..and let her proceed to paint my toes..I mean toe nails. I love that she enjoys doing nice things for mom, but she still needs a little work when it comes to painting nails. Luckily nail polish is one of those things that comes off pretty easy from skin once it's dried. And to my luck the kind of polish we were using has argan oil in the formula so the skin around my toe nails got a little extra nourishment in the process.
Sally Hansen has some really nice pastel colors in their line-up in both gel and standard nail polish formulas. I've never tried gel nail polish so I figured why not give it a shot and see what all the hype is about. So far it seems to actually be doing really good on my nails compared to standard polish. I tend to have a problem with nail polish flaking off my fingernails easy when I'm doing things like washing dishes and household cleaning. So looks like this gal might have just found a new favorite line to use this spring!

Fill those stockings & baskets full of color!
One thing I really love about the COVERGIRL line of products is that they have such a wide variety of colors to choose from. This is especially nice for foundation because depending on the time of year depends on what color I need. Plus who doesn't like a splash of color to bring attention to their eyes! I also like that their products stay on all day long. Many brands tend to wear off part way through the day and I don't experience that with COVERGIRL. So why not fill your sweethearts stocking with some color and help her make herself feel beautiful into the New Year!

Every year I make up baskets for the Domestic Violence Shelter in hopes that they bring the ladies there a little bit of joy for the holidays. I always try to give them some basics that they may need and had to leave behind. I also always try to do it in a fun way like with a nice basket. It's something they can use to hold their beauty products or decorate with when they are able to move into their own place. Plus it makes the products inside look really nice and more like a gift. This year I tried to do a little bit of holiday colors in my basket with the red and greens to make it a bit more festive. I know they are all products I personally use and love and hope the recipient will too. I've gotten many compliments when I've dropped of my baskets and had the staff there tell me how excited the ladies are when they get something like this. Who knew something so simple could really brighten someone's day. I guess it's one of those things we take for granted having and don't realize how much we would miss it if we didn't have it.

Give her a little sparkle & shine from Townleygirl
Do you have a special little girl in your life that loves to dress up and put on make-up? I know I sure do, my daughter is 10 and she's been into wearing nail polish and colored lip gloss for quite some time. I'm not quite ready for her to get into the "big girl" make-up products yet so I try to keep her satisfied with fun sets that are appropriate for her age. And what's more fun than putting emoji faces all over your nails right? They are a big thing right now so I knew when I saw this set she would love it. She's also super into having clean hands and using hand sanitizer so the set of Trolls hand sanitizer with carrying case was also a must have for her. Really you can't go wrong if you're shopping the Townleygirl website. They have an awesome array of products and brands/characters to choose from. All of the sets come pre-packaged and ready to give to that special someone. Just add a bow, toss it in a gift bag, or wrap it up!

Discover your best Mother’s Day look with COVERGIRL!
There's just something about being a mom that makes one feel extra special inside. I can still remember the moment I found out I was going to be a mom for the first time how good it made me feel. Fast forward two children later and I still get that feeling every time I look at them. For me Mother's Day isn't just about me it's about my kids too and letting them know how proud I am to be there mom. That means dressing up and putting on a little extra bit of color. With the new products I recently received from COVERGIRL I plan on doing just that for Mother's Day this year. I was even lucky enough to get enough to share with my mom and my best friend. There just happened to be colors that went with each of our skin tones perfectly! It was like an early Mother's Day gift for us all that we get to enjoy everyday.
The thing I really like about COVERGIRL products is that they have such a wide variety of colors to choose from in their product lines. This is especially nice for foundation because depending on the time of year depends on what color I need. I also like that their products stay on all day long. Many brands tend to wear off part way through the day and I don't experience that with COVERGIRL.
Products I received:
COVERGIRL Plumpify Mascara
Lifts lashes from the root, vs. crimping them at the center, so they appear darker, fuller and more visible
COVERGIRL truNAKED Shadow Palette and Double Ended Liner

Protect your lips in style with Carmex Moisture Plus #Giveaway - Ends 9-25
If you're like me you're totally not ready for the fall weather, or even worse the winter weather that seems to be creeping up on us. I've heard too many stories about how this winter will be as bad as last year, or maybe even worse when it comes to cold temperatures and snowfall amounts. That just means more cold hands and chapped lips! Thanks to having a nice supply of Carmex Moisture Plus I won't have to worry about the chapped lips however. I make sure I always have a stick in my purse at all times, actually year round. The one thing I can't stand is having chapped and cracking lips. With Carmex Moisture Plus I don't have to worry about that though because it contains vitamin E, aloe, and SPF 15 to keep my lips protected.
But don't just take my word for it, check them out for yourself with the awesome coupon below as well as a giveaway where you can enter to win a 4-pack of Carmex Moisture Plus!
