They always say back to school is such a busy time. And as a mom I have to agree. We have a tradition of the whole family making cookies and other treats together on Christmas Eve every year. I've been on the hunt for a new knife set for awhile now because I've been wanting to organize my mess of a kitchen drawer. I have so many different knives in different colors, styles, and sizes and I rarely even use some of them. So I decided the best route to go would be to just get a nice yet simple set of the sizes I use most and get rid of all the odd and end knives I've collected over the years. This set is the perfect replacement set because it has a 6" chef's knife, a 5" slicing knife, and a 3" paring knife. All of the sizes that I use in basic everyday cooking. I love having a new go to set when I need to cut, slick, dice anything in my kitchen.
The black handles are ergonomic so they are comfortable to hold when slicing and dicing foods. They cut through pretty much everything with ease too which I really like a lot. The blades are ceramic and are very sharp. One of my old knives was getting really dull and it didn't cut very well, half the time I felt like I was trying to saw through meats. Another part about these knives that I like is that they are ceramic so they won't corrode or rust! If you've ever owned cheap knives I'm sure like me you've had them rust before which can be very disappointing. I've gotten rid of more than one because of that actually. It feels good to finally have a nice set that I enjoy using and covers all of my needs without having to have a drawer full of knives.
I know there are a ton of different subscription boxes out there these days and most of them are pretty much alike with just a few differences from what I've noticed based on the brand. The very first thing I noticed was that the box not only came with unique food products, it also came with a unique culinary tool. I can honestly say I have never seen a Cit-Trease (the orange handled tool). I know you're probably going a what?? It's a clever tool that makes removing citrus from the peel very easy. I was immediately in love with it because I hate getting citrus peels under my nails when I am trying to remove them. Awesome right? Besides the awesome new culinary tool I now have I also have many great food products I've been trying out for the first time with my family.
