Nine Lives is now on DVD & Blu-ray - Have you seen it yet? #NineLives #NineLivesInsiders

Nine Lives is officially out on DVD and Blu-ray so what are you waiting for? I know we missed this hit in theaters so I was super excited when it arrived on my doorstep. We are a multi-cat house so we have to check out all cat related movies first hand. I will say this one had a little more grown-up humor to it, but even my 10-year old daughter followed right along. We honestly all laughed multiple times through out the movie. I'm sure we'll be watching it again before long because my daughter keeps talking about it over and over.

About:
Tom Brand (Kevin Spacey) is a daredevil billionaire at the top of his game. His eponymous company FireBrand is nearing completion on its greatest achievement to date – the tallest skyscraper in the northern hemisphere. But Tom’s workaholic lifestyle has disconnected him from his family, particularly his beautiful wife Lara (Jennifer Garner) and his adoring daughter Rebecca (Malina Weisman).

Rebecca’s 11th birthday is here, and she wants the gift she wants every year, a cat. Tom hates cats, but he is without a gift and time is running out. His GPS directs him to a mystical pet store brimming with odd and exotic cats- where the store’s eccentric owner- Felix Perkins (Christopher Walken), presents him with a majestic tomcat, named Mr. Fuzzypants.

En route to his daughter’s party, Tom has a terrible accident. When he regains consciousness he discovers that somehow, he has become trapped inside the body of the cat. Adopted by his own family, he begins to experience what life is truly like for the family pet, and as a cat, Tom begins to see his family and his life through a new and unexpected perspective. Meanwhile, his family adjusts to life with an odd and stubborn cat, and his son David (Robbie Amell), steps up in ways Tom never expected.

If any hope exists of returning to his family as the husband and father they deserve, Tom will have to learn why he has been placed in this peculiar situation and the great lengths he must go to earn back his human existence.

Check out Spy now on DVD/Blu-ray

I'm  a big fan of Melissa McCarthy so I was pretty excited to receive Spy and check it out with my family. And as I had already figured it was a laugh out loud movie. She definitely didn't disappoint when it came to her usual funny antics. I won't give anything away but I will tell you this is one of those movies you want to stop and actually watch and listen to and not do anything else at the same time. If you do you'll be disappointed because you will miss so funny stuff.

About:
Queen of Comedy Melissa McCarthy “in her funniest movie yet” (Leonard Maltin, LeonardMaltin.com) embarks on the mission of a lifetime as secret agent Susan Cooper in SPY. The global ensemble cast features Jason Statham, Jude Law and Rose Byrne who deliver hysterical performances in this summer blockbuster hit that totaled over $100 million in the domestic box office.  The movie was adored by critics who gave it an astounding 95% fresh rating on RottenTomatoes.com.

McCarthy is armed and hilarious in this “outrageously entertaining” (Peter Travers, Rolling Stone) comedy hit from director Paul Feig (The Heat, Bridesmaids). Deskbound CIA analyst Susan Cooper (McCarthy) is about to become the world’s newest — and unlikeliest — secret weapon. When her partner (Law) falls off the grid and another top agent (Statham) is compromised, Susan volunteers to go deep undercover and bring down a deadly arms dealer. On the road with Rio 2 #Rio2Insiders

These are the faces of two happy kids thanks to our Rio 2 road trip package. There was no way they were going to fall asleep watching Rio 2 on my daughter's iPad. They were both in the back seat laughing and having such a good time they didn't even ask the age old question "Are we there yet?". And that couldn't have made this momma happier, especially on this car ride. Unfortunately for me the ride wasn't quite as entertaining. I came down with a bad case of allergies right before we left and couldn't stop sneezing and blowing my nose the entire time. But thankfully there was a little bit of saving grace in the kids Rio backpacks. I ended up using both of their packs of tissues..oops!

Along with the goodies shown in the photo above I also added a few healthy treats right before we left as well as a bottle of water and a flavor packet. It was everything the kids needed to keep themselves busy and happy while mommy sat in the front seat trying to sleep in between sneezes and sniffles. The best part about having Rio 2 on digital HD through iTunes is now I can watch the movie from the comfort of my chair at home anytime that I want.

Some of my favorite road trip tips:
• Wear comfortable clothes - especially for long trips.
• Always carry an extra blanket (or two) in the car in both the summer and winter. You never know if you'll get froze out by the driver.
• Pack a separate bag/cooler with some snacks and drinks you can reach from the front of the vehicle.
• Bring along movies and other activities to keep kids busy, it makes the time seem to go by faster when they are entertained and not focusing on how long is left to go.

Do you have any great road trip tips?

Disclosure: I was provided with the above mentioned Rio 2 road trip kit through partnership as a Fox Insider. No other form of compensation was received and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Still Mine on Blu-ray and DVD

Oscar^® Nominees James Cromwell and Geneviève Bujold* star in this love story based on actual events that proves love is the ultimate triumph.  Determined to build a more suitable house for his wife Irene (Bujold), whose memory is failing, Craig Morrison (Cromwell) is met with resistance from an overzealous government inspector. Facing a possible jail sentence, and with Irene becoming increasingly ill, Craig races to finish the house in this beautiful story filled with heart and humor.

If you ask me this has to be one of those feel good movies that you want to watch over and over again. I'm just a sucker for movies about true love and kindness though. I like how the movie follows along in actual timeline events, it doesn't jump around from past to future and present like some movies do. It shows the story as it unfolds in an original and realistic format. There just aren't enough feel good movies around anymore that tell about how life really should be. My favorite part of the movie is how Craig never gives up on what he's determined to do for his wife.

Cowgirls ‘N Angels 2: Dakota’s Summer on Blu-Ray & DVD

I received a copy of this movie in exchange for sharing about it on my blog. No other form of compensation was received and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Synopsis:
Oscar^® Winner Keith Carradine (Cowboys & Aliens) stars alongside a young, popular cast that includes Haley Ramm (X-Men: The Last Stand), Jade Pettyjohn (American Girl: McKenna Shoots for the Stars), and Emily Bett Rickards (“Arrow”) in this inspiring second chapter of the beloved Cowgirls ’N Angelsstory! After she receives unexpected news about herself, a 17-year-old girl (Ramm) experiences an exciting, yet challenging life in and out of the rodeo circuit in this wonderful coming- of-age story. Filled with heart, horses and high-reaching adventure, Cowgirls ’N Angels 2: Dakota’s Summer is an uplifting reminder that with courage, friendship and passion, anything is possible.

My take:
One of my favorite things about this movie is that it's appropriate for all ages. That's actually one of the first things I look for now days when searching for a movie to watch as a family. The main storyline of the movie focuses on a girl named Dakota. She faces many struggles and challenges as she learns she doesn't have quite what it takes to become a trick rider like her sister and grandfather. And when the truth comes out that she is adopted she goes through even more emotions. And to top it off after she searches for and finds her biological mother she comes to realize it was all for a good reason that she was put up for adoption. I don't want to go into all the details because I think seeing them unfold on screen gives it a much more real-life feel. The movie is filled with valuable lessons in life and love for those that choose to love you even if you weren't born into their family from the start.

Have you ever heard of M-Go? If not let me tell you a little bit about it and how much we enjoyed our complementary experience watching Walking with Dinosaurs using the service. Through the M-Go service you can "rent" or purchase movies and watch them through your smart TV, tablet, media player, computer, and even your mobile phone. I have a box hooked up to my TV where I accessed the M-Go service. It was super easy to use and find the movie I had redeemed on my computer. Most movies have the option to watch them in SD or Digital HD. I highly recommend the Digital HD if you plan to watch it on your home TV, the quality is just like being in the theater.

Here's a little clip from the movie we watched. It was a great family friendly movie and we all really enjoyed the storyline and the little bits of educational information that were given through out the movie. It wasn't just my kids that learned something new either. I was very impressed with the information given about the different animals that I'd never heard about before. They were good at putting the information in a just the right place too so it didn't take away from the movie and kept your interest.

Even though Walking With Dinosaurs the movie, isn't releasing on Blu-ray™ and DVD until March 25 you can watch it on M-Go today!

Stay tuned for my next post about Walking With Dinosaurs where I'll be sharing some Easter cards, fun activity sheets, and giving away a copy of the movie!

Disclosure:  Thanks to PR Firm/sponsor I was provided a free M-Go redemption code in exchange for my posting about the movie and M-Go.  Any thoughts or opinions expressed are my own. No other form of compensation was exchanged.
