Since my husband and I joined a fitness program through the recreation center where he works I've been trying to come up with breakfast and even snack ideas that are better for us. I'm one of those people that likes variety too so having the opportunity to check out so many great recipe ideas through this project has helped me a lot.

This is one of the ideas I was able to incorporate in my breakfast plan thanks to the great package I received above. I like yogurt, but just can't see paying the price for the individual cups because they have a little fruit in them or granola in the lid on the top. And I 'm really not a fan of plain yogurt either. So with my new supplies on hand I decided to buy a big container of vanilla yogurt and jazz it up myself.

My Take:
What an awesome movie from beginning to end. My kids love animals movies and I was so pleased at how well this movie was written. My biggest request when picking a movie for my kids to watch is that it teaches them something. I don't like allowing them to just watch a movie for the fun of it. Yes we watch fun movies, but I like to pick out movies that teaches them something they can take away from the time spent watching it.  My Dog the Champion was one of those movies. It teaches not just about having a dog for a pet, but caring for them and training them to be more than just a family pet. It makes children really expand their minds when it comes to having a dog for a pet.

Cheerios Family Breakfast Project - Take the 7/7 Challange #FamilyBreakfast

Cheerios believes that when families connect over breakfast, amazing things can happen. My take: 
I received a package that contained the above items pictured as well as simple meal prep ideas, fun activities, and breakfast recipes. I was really excited about this project because breakfast has always been one of those hurry up lets get it done things in my household. I took a few minutes and browsed through the packet I received and here are a few things I read and was excited to try:

1. Encourage children to get their clothes out the night before to save time in the morning. It also included a Clothing Checklist you can hang up for younger children so they know what all they need to get ready.

2. A recipe for Jumbo Breakfast Cookies. I enjoyed this because my kids were able to help me prepare the cookies one evening after school, and they could customize them with things like raisins or other add-ins.

3. Various questions and activities I could do with my children either while they were eating breakfast or later in the day to keep the momentum going.

You can even find a link to sign up for a daily email to receive each of the seven days of Family Breakfast sent right to your inbox. And of course there are coupons and loads of recipes you can check out. I really liked that there are so many recipe ideas for the plain Cheerios. My kids have this mindset that because they are plain they don't "like them". But now that I'm equipped with lots of recipe ideas using them I can show them that they are not only good for them, but taste good too!

My Take:
One of my favorite things about the Strawberry Shortcake cartoons is that they always teach your children some sort of lesson. I've always disliked letting my kids watch cartoons just for the sake of keeping them entertained, or for something to pass time. With Strawberry Shortcake I know my daughter isn't just wasting her time in front of the TV she's also learning something important.  With this set of Strawberry Shortcake shows she learned about being a big help and what that means not just to the person being helped, but also what it means to be a helper.

My Take:
I've always liked and purchased many of Del Monte® products. So being asked if I wanted to try the new varieties of Del Monte® Squeezers and Fruit Cup Snacks I responded very quickly with a yes. I try to always keep healthy snacks like these on hand for my family. It helps having a few options too when kids give you that I'm hungry whine before dinner's ready. The Mango Pineapple Fruit Cup mix was a very good mix. It had a nice sweet flavor that wasn't too sweet and gave you plenty of nice sized pieces of both fruits.  I really like that now you can get the squeezers in a fruit and veggie mix. It's another great and easy way to get kids their daily allotment of vegetables.  My kids had no idea there was even vegetables inside the pouches until I told them. Talking Anya Dress-up & Pet Puppies iOS APP

I tried this game and it was really cute and fun. It's one of those games where you have to try at least a second time (or more) to see if you can beat the count you popped in the last game.

Another of the in app purchase you can make for $1.99 is to unlock 5 adorable puppies. This brings about a whole new level of play with Anya.  You can make them do tricks like: stand, spin, shake hands, fetch and crawl. And you can hug, feed, and pet them too.

And the last thing I want to highlight is the play with a friend feature. If you get two devices with Anya on them close to each other you can play multi-player games. I haven't tried this yet, but plan to download the game on my phone so I can play some of the games with my daughter when we need to pass a little time.

I thought the Talking Anya App was very cute and played around with it for quite some time myself. One of the things I really liked was her reaction if you laid the device down and didn't play with it for a little bit.  She responded with "I'm bored." and "You're not playing with me.". I thought this was a great feature to remind kids they have and app open if they laid it down and forgot.

It’s Brewster’s turn to take the spotlight! But, when the Chuggers get called away or breakdown, it’s up to Brewster to move “full-steam ahead” and get the job done! And, in “Track Laying Brewster,” when a flash flood causes Rocky Ridge River to overflow, Brewster’s track-laying abilities are put to the test. He has to save Zack, Tyne and Fletch by helping them get their wheels above water – and fast!

Additional episodes on the new DVD include “Babysitter Brewster,” “Brewster Meets The Mayor,” “Poor Old Puffer Pete,” “Old Puffer Pete’s Firebox,” and bonus Badge Quest adventure, “Brewster’s Carwash.” The title also contains a Chugger Spotlight segment with a special character montage that centers on Brewster, along with an original Chug Patrol: Ready to Rescue music video, and coloring and activity pages, too! 

My Take:
This DVD as I expected was another great set of episodes from the Chuggington family. You can always expect a good storyline and lots of fun on their adventures. That's probably my favorite part of this series is that it not only entertains, but also teaches preschoolers through the different experiences the trains encounter.

My Take:
I've always been a fan of Purex detergent, and I've always thought the Make-A-Wish foundation was an amazing program. Before becoming a part of this program I had no idea just how many wishes were being granted. One wish is granted every 38 minutes somewhere in the US. I've never personally known anyone with a wish granted, but heard about a young lady at a local school that had hers granted after having been diagnosed with a critical disease. 1. Turkeys need to be trained to eat. In order for turkeys to reach their biggest size, they must be taught to eat small meals throughout the day, instead of their natural routine of consistently gorging themselves on food.
2. A turkey’s snood (red thing attached to the beak) serves no functional purpose.
3. A turkey’s gobble can be heard from a mile away. Talk about a loud mouth!
4. Young turkeys are called “poults.”
5. Turkeys were domesticated by Native Americans in pre-Columbian Mexico, more than 500 years ago. They arrived in Spain in 1519 and quickly spread to the rest of Europe.
6. Turkeys prefer to sleep in trees. They do this as a way of avoiding predators in the wild.
7. Female turkeys (hens) do not gobble. Instead, they communicate through low-chirps and clicking noises.
8. Wild turkeys can fly. They are actually quite fast, reaching speeds as fast as 55mph.
9. Turkeys can blush. This usually takes place when they are frightened, agitated, excited, or ill. And here we thought they were just bashful!
10. A turkey’s stomach has a container called the gizzard. It contains small stones the turkey has swallowed which help aid with breaking down food for digestion, since the birds do not have teeth.

My Take:
This was one of those keep you laughing films for sure. I definitely was surprised at how funny the movie was and that it not only was appealing to my kids but to myself and my husband also. I like the animated movies that have some children humor as well as some geared towards adults, yet is still appropriate for all ages. My Take:
I received a set of three UGLee Pens for my reviewing purposes. And call me crazy but I was so excited to get them in the mail. I immediately tore into the package and started writing random words on paper. Why you might ask? Well, because I had seen them advertised on the web and through other blogs doting on how great they were to write with. I just had to see for myself. I enjoy writing, but don't like the hand cramps that come with long letters so if this supposedly great pen worked I had to see just for myself. So here I was with this ergonomic pen in hand and now it was my turn to test it out. I first wrote a few words, then I decided to really test it out I needed to write more than just that. So, I wrote a long letter to a friend to put the pen to the real test. I have to say I was very impressed, when I held the pen at the correct angle it felt great. My hand didn't cramp up part way through the letter or even after I was done. I love these pens..now to keep them hidden so no one else steals them from me!

My Take:
I missed seeing this when it was out in the theaters so I promised myself I would buy the DVD as soon as it came out.  To my good fortune however I was contacted to receive a copy in exchange for a review on my blog. I was so excited I hopped right on board. I have watch all of Kirk Cameron's movies and have never been let down so I knew this would be just as good.  What I didn't know however was that it would be so informative and appeal to my 7-year old daughter too. She loved the movie, it kept her attention through the entire movie. We are actually planning to have friends over and watch it again because my husband and I feel like we might gain even more insight from watching it again.  Kirk does a great job of outlining the history of good and evil through out the Bible from beginning to end. It's even simple enough that younger children that are familiar with the Bible and it's stories they can follow along. I think that was the most impressive part for me.  If you haven't see it yet I urge you to enter this giveaway, and if you don't win please rent the movie, or buy it for yourself.
