Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms arrives on 1-29

We actually saw Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms when it was in theaters so our wait is already over. I went with my daughter, son and his girlfriend and we all enjoyed it. It was so much more than I ever expected. The story-line was amazing as was the entire film. If you didn't catch it in theaters I would recommended picking it up and watching with the family. This is a film everyone will enjoy.

Disney's dazzling adventure "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms"- inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann's classic tale and the beloved ballet "The Nutcracker"- carried audiences along with 14-year-old Clara (Mackenzie Foy) to a magical, mysterious world with breathtaking performances by Misty Copeland plus sweets, snowflakes, soldiers, scurrying mice... and no shortage of surprises. Destined to become an annual viewing tradition for adventurers of all ages, the film arrives home instantly with never-before seen extras and deleted scenes on Digital and Movies Anywhere, and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray™ and DVD Jan. 29, 2019.

Bonus features include a discussion with American Ballet Theatre’s Misty Copeland about her role as the enchanting Ballerina Princess, her personal history with “The “Nutcracker” ballet, and her inspirational and historic rise within the world of dance. Extras take viewers on the set of “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” to meet both new and reimagined characters, and discover how the Land of Sweets, Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and mysterious Fourth Realm were created to such dazzling effect. Deleted scenes provide a look at magical moments that didn’t make the final version of the movie.

In “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms,” Clara travels along a golden thread, presented at Drosselmeyer’s (Morgan Freeman) annual party, eagerly searching for a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a music box that holds a priceless gift. When she enters a mysterious parallel world, Clara encounters a Nutcracker soldier named Phillip (Jayden Fowora-Knight), a gang of mice and three Realm regents, including the Sugar Plum Fairy (Keira Knightley). Ultimately, she must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren), to retrieve the key and return harmony to the unstable world.

Bonus features include*:

What do you like to do on a rainy day? How about a movie!

When it's rainy out, which it has been a lot here lately it seems I don't really have as much ambition to get up and moving. I for one would rather snuggle up under a blanket and watch a movie with my kids. It's actually a great excuse for some mommy cuddling time with my daughter really, but don't tell her that. Plus we get to make some memories together while we watch a fun movie together and have some laughs. Over spring break last week we broke out some movies we'd been meaning to watch that somehow got lost behind the DVD stand and did some catching up on rainy day movie time. One of them was a good blast from the past for me...Pinocchio. WOW it had been a long time since I had last seen it on television growing up. Of course not much had changed...besides the quality of course. It's amazing what technology can do for an older movie to make it almost like something totally new.

If you haven't had the chance to check out Pinocchio yet I highly recommend it because seeing it in HD is amazing!

Alice Through The Looking Glass - Own it today!

I was so excited when this movie arrived. I absolutely love Johnny Depp as an actor and having seen the first Alice In Wonderland movie knew I'd be in for a treat with this one.

The all-star cast from the 2010 blockbuster is back with Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter who’s desperately searching for his family; Anne Hathaway as Mirana, the kind, mild-mannered White Queen; Helena Bonham Carter as Iracebeth, the short-tempered, big-headed Red Queen; and Mia Wasikowska as Alice, the heroine at the heart of the story. Sacha Baron Cohen joins the ensemble as Time, a magical being that is part human, part clock, and the late Alan Rickman—to whom the film is dedicated—is the voice of Absolem, the blue Monarch butterfly who metamorphosed from the blue caterpillar “Alice in Wonderland.”

Sure enough I was right just as I suspected, this movie is awesome! From the superior acting to the amazing scenes it's a movie you don't want to miss.

If you haven't seen the movie yet here's a video sneak peek:

Zootopia is hitting Blu-ray next Tuesday June 7th

We actually saw Zootopia when it was in theaters as a family and we all loved it. Even my husband said he liked it and that's a big deal for him. We all laughed so to me that is always a good indicator of a good family movie. The storyline was one that had you always wondered what was going to happen next and didn't leave you hanging in the end. Definitely a quality family flick for all ages!

About: Walt Disney Animation Studios’ comedy-adventure “Zootopia” has broken records worldwide, earning nearly $1 billion at the global box office and becoming one of the highest grossing original movies of all time. Critics and audiences of all ages have fallen in love with the wonderfully innovative mammal metropolis of “Zootopia” and the comedic chemistry of rookie rabbit officer Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and scam-artist fox Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman). In fact, critics have hailed “Zootopia” as one of the best films of 2016 and Richard Roeper from Chicago Sun-Times calls it “One of the best animated films ever.”

Birds Eye and Disney Team Up to Help Kids Eat their Veggies

Do you struggle with getting your kids to eat their veggies? Yet if you put a bowl of mac & cheese in front of them they will gobble it down? I know I've dealt with that issue with both of my kids. Thankfully Birds Eye and Disney Team have teamed up to help us moms with that problem. Birds Eye, the number one name in frozen vegetables is introducing a first-of-its-kind frozen offering, bringing nutritious, veggie-rich side dishes to kids, featuring Disney characters they know and love. I love the offerings that Birds Eye has come up with and by putting my daughter's favorite Disney characters right on the front of the packages she even wants to pick them out herself for meals. It's funny how she will look past the veggies inside the bag and says to me "Mom can I have the Frozen pasta for dinner?". But hey, I'm okay with that because I know there's veggies mixed in with that pasta that I otherwise would not have gotten her to eat. I know because I've tried the hidden veggie trick before and got busted. I'm just glad I was able to check these out and find a solution that she will eat and the whole family can enjoy with her.

The Disney offerings by Birds Eye feature pastas in the shape of today’s favorite Disney characters paired with veggies kids already know and love.

Varieties include:
• Elsa & Anna Pasta & Peas with a Parmesan Cheese Sauce
• Mickey & Minnie Whole Grain Pasta & Corn with a Butter Sauce
• Mater & McQueen Pasta & Broccoli with Cheese Sauce

• Olaf Pasta & Carrots with a Tomato Sauce

I had a little trouble finding these when I first went to look for them, but it seems like they are starting to show up in more stores now. So if you don't see them in one store, don't give up. I found mine at our local Meijer store.

Disney Princess Royal Ball Augmented Reality 2.0 app and Party Planning #DisneyPrincessWMT

We are becoming quite the augmented reality app junkies lately.  It's really a lot of fun finding ways in stores like Walmart to unlock special activities in the apps. The Disney Princess Royal Ball Augmented Reality 2.0 app has made it to the top of my daughters favorites list.  The app can be found by searching ‘Royal Ball’ in the iTunes App Store or Google Play store.

Once you've downloaded the app to your device you can begin the journey by picking out a dress, shoes and tiara for the royal ball.  Next you journey to create your dream carriage, then finally off to the ball you go riding in style!  My daughter really enjoyed every step of the process and couldn't wait to go to Walmart so we could search for the trigger points and activate even more fun.

We immediately found the Cinderella movie display and pulled a copy of the Blu-Ray/DVD off the shelf and was able to make the carriage from the app transform into a 3D carriage. It was really cool, and if you were careful you could rotate your phone to see it from all angels. We marveled at it for a bit then headed off to the toy department to see what other fun things we could find.

Wow did they have a large selection, an entire side of one isle was full of Disney dolls, toys, and dress up merchandise.  My daughter had a field day looking through all of the dresses before I finally tore her away so we could head off to the Halloween isle to find her perfect dress.

We lined up the Disney dresses we found so she could look each one over before deciding on which dress would win her heart.  She finally decided on the Tangled wedding dress because she didn't have anything like it at home already and thought she'd make a beautiful princess bride herself.

Finally we stopped by the Disney Princess party decor isle to see what it had to offer for our party next week.  I couldn't believe what a large selection they had of different princess themes.  You can see the rest of the selection as well as my entire trip through my Google+ album.

Check out Disney on Twitter, Cinderella and all the Disney Princesses on Facebook, for more great information on the Disney brand.

You can find lots of great Disney Princess merchandise at Walmart!
