Looney Tunes Rabbits Run now on DVD

I can remember growing up watching Bugs Bunny. It was actually one of my favorite cartoons. I'm glad to see him still in action with all of his pals (and some new ones) in new adventures like Rabbits Run. My kids actually sat down and watched the whole movie with me and laughed a ton. I don't know about you, but I think some good original Tom and Jerry is just plain good for the soul. I can remember how both of my kids when they were younger would just sit and watch Tom and Jerry and not even realize that the cartoon characters weren't even talking. It really just amazed me. I think it's because there was always so much going on making you laugh you never even realized it. When I saw this title was coming out on DVD I was pretty excited because I love the original cartoons so much and want to continue to share them with my kids (and grand-kids down the road).

Looney Tunes Musical Masterpieces now on DVD

The Looney Tunes has been one of my favorite cartoons since I was a child so when I received information about this title coming out I was pretty excited. I love the original Looney Tunes and am always on board for watching the classics. My kids even agree they are great and we have enjoyed watching this compilation when we've had some rainy days lately. This is one we will watch over and over again for sure. In Curse of the Gemstone Diamond, Fred’s lookalike steals Dreamchip Gemstone’s precious diamond. Fred and Barney become babysitters on Dusty Disappears. In Freddy’s First Crush, Fred develops a crush on a substitute teacher in school. In The Bad News Brontos, the gang forms a baseball team. When the father and son picnic comes up, Fred loans his grandfather to Barney when his own father is unavailable in Grandpa for Loan. In The Rock Concert That Rocked Freddy, Fred promises tickets to a big rock concert but fails to deliver. These and other entertaining adventures are included on the release.

My Take:

You know you're in for some good laughs when it comes to Tom and Jerry and The Flinstones. These are cartoons I grew up watching as a child. And I just love that they are back for my kids to enjoy too. Yes they are different, but so is this generation so it fits right in. They've given them a twist to keep up with the way our kids now days are always on the move and full of energy.

Unless they come up with a mortgage payment, the park will be torn down and replaced by a strip mall.

Forever optimistic, Violet and Jack refuse to give in and live by the adage “dreams come true if you believe.” To come up with part of the mortgage, Jack sells their beloved cow, Hermione. Tom and Jerry, who are all that’s left of Storybook Town’s petting zoo, accompany young Jack, who trades Hermione to a mysterious stranger named Farmer O’Dell in exchange for magic beans.

Jack’s mom is upset Hermione was traded for beans. Tom and Jerry, however, know there is something uniquely distinctive about these beans and bury them in the soil. As night falls on Storybook Town, Tom, Jerry and Jack fall asleep but are soon awakened by the magic beans, which have formed a giant beanstalk that shoots up like a rocket above the clouds and carries the trio to Fairyland – a magical place, high in the sky.                                                           

In Fairyland, Tom, Jerry and Jack meet several characters from legendary children’s stories and nursery rhymes. They also meet Ginormous, a greedy, tyrannical giant with a keen sense of smell, who terrorizes everyone in Fairyland. Jack realizes he’s living the role of “Jack” in Jack and the Beanstalk and learns it’s his destiny to fight Ginormous and free the citizens of Fairyland. I received a copy of Tom and Jerry’s Giant Adventure and it was in true Tom and Jerry form. My Take:
I was so excited when they started coming out with the Sesame Street: Old School DVD's. I grew up in the 80's and watched Sesame Street all the time. I know it's still on, but a lot of the characters and stories are so much different. My kids and I have watched several episodes off this DVD and they love it just as much as I did when they first aired.  Thank you Warner Brothers for bringing back the good ole originals for us to all enjoy again!
