Squinkies for boys! They have an entire line of Squinkies all geared towards boys now. How awesome! My son was so thrilled when he heard about them and we've been looking for them in stores ever since then. When I was able to secure some for this review and giveaway he was bouncing up and down waiting for their arrival. It took him over 15 minutes studying each package to decide which one he wanted to keep. He finally decided on set #3.
After tearing into the package we found instructions inside and began to investigate just what they were for. So began the fun of the new Squinkies dice game.
It's really a lot of fun, each player picks the same number of Squinkies and then you take turns rolling the dice and following the directions based on what the instruction sheet tells you to do. Each little Squinkie character has a little symbol printed on his body that matches up with like symbols on the red dice. The blue dice gives you bonus things like reactivating a Squinkie removed from the game. There is even a Battle Mat you can download and print to help make the game easier (the little symbols are a little hard to see when they are standing up).
My Take:
I really love that Blip came out with a line of Squinkies that boys can enjoy. My son was really jealous of all that my daughter has collected over the last year and is finally happy to have his own. I also like that some of them (like the sets we got) have a purpose, in this case being a game. My kids spent a long time just sitting and playing the game together and it was great quiet time for mommy! That's why I titled this (and girls too) my daughter was literally trying to steal the new Squinkies from her brother after they quit playing the game. She wanted monsters and cool "dudes" too.
