Now that the temperatures are finally staying a little warmer and the rain has been staying at bay for longer than a few hours it's time to RIDE. My husband hadn't been able to get his motorcycle out for more than a day here and there over the last few months because it seemed like every day it was raining or threatening to rain when he would need to ride to or from work. The Badlands boots from Harley-Davidson Footwear® are a great pair of riding boots for summer. This particular pair of boots don’t go quite as far up your leg as some. My husband wanted these just for that reason. His other pair goes up his leg more keeping the draft from going up his pants when it’s colder out. This pair still protects his feet just as well, yet they don’t go up as far allowing the air to keep him cooler as the summer weather starts to settle in. Chamberlain Mini Remote: Delivers convenience and safety to motorcycle riders

Thanks to the folks over at Chamberlain my husband no longer has to carry a big bulky garage door remote in his jacket pocket when he rides his motorcycle to work. They sent us two of their Universal Mini Garage Door Remotes and let me tell you they are great. I actually kept one for myself and dropped it in my purse. It’s so small I don’t even notice that it’s in there. But if I need it, it’s there. You never know when you’ll walk out the door and lock your keys in the house. Or like I’ve had happen to me before the car remote battery dies and you have to manually open your garage door to get in. But most of all my husband is excited because he no longer has to carry a big bulky remote in his bike jacket pocket. This remote is about the same size as the remote he carries that allows him to start his motorcycle. Now he has them both in one pocket and said it’s still less than the previous remote alone.

Harley-Davidson Cool Kicks for Mothers and Daughters

In honor of Mother’s Day Harley-Davidson Footwear sent my daughter and I both a pair of boots to show off for some “mommy and me” fun. We decided to do a little fashion vs. function in our selections. I wanted a pair of boots I could wear while riding on the bike with my husband. And she wanted a pair she could show off to her friends at school.

I picked their Auburn riding boots (shown on the left) in black because I thought they would look sleek next to my husbands black motorcycle. They also come in a nice tan color too that would look great with blue jeans. Since I picked riding boots they had some added benefits like rubber outsoles, a metal shank, and full-grain leather that acts as a heat and debris shield. If you ask me they are actually quite nice looking for a riding boot. It did take me a little bit of wearing to get them broken in. I ordered my normal size but they were a little tight on me. I think it was due to the squared toe area that made them not quite as roomy. But after wearing them a few times they did start to feel better. Of course you don’t want a loose riding boot so I am sure that was taken into account when they designed them.

My daughter picked their new Ardsley boots (shown on the right). It’s a mid-calf boot with a little bit of attitude (kind of like my daughter) that looks very fashionable with zippers on both sides. They come in your choice of black or brown. My daughter chose black because she wears black pants a lot. She really liked that they had a zipper on the inside of her foot making it super easy to get them on and off. Actually both pairs had this feature which I agree was really nice. Her boots had a rounded toe area making them much more roomy than the boots I picked out. These were a perfect fit for her, and a little loose on me which honesty isn’t too big of a deal. Either way it was a win for us both because we wear about the same shoe size! It was actually a lot of fun wearing our new boots out together seeing what kind of comments we would get. We heard things like “how cute you have matching boots”, “I love your boots”, and even “look at you two biker girls”.
