When my husband and I first got together it was a whole new journey for me. I'd always been a city girl and taken vacations to amusement parks growing up. While he on the other hand grew up in the country and did hiking, camping, and all things outdoors. They say opposites attract, and I guess in this instance that saying holds very true.

One of those opposites could be seen right off when we made our wedding registry. See my idea of an ideal wedding gift would be something like the Canon EOS Rebel T5I so I could not only make memories with my new husband, but also record them to share with our friends and family for years to come.

So to make a compromise I go on new adventures with him to places where he grew up, and he lets me take pictures while we are there. This makes for a definite win-win for us both. He gets to show me new experiences and I get to record our adventures for our friends and family to see later. One of the first places he took me was where his is from out east. We went through the mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire all the way to the ocean in Maine. So many great sights I had never seen before having always lived (and traveled) in the mid-west. And thankfully because I had my camera with me I was able to take lots of great photos to share our adventures with everyone! Just like any trip, a marriage isn't about where you're going, it's about the unexpected experiences along the way that make it truly worth going the distance.
