About Horizon Organic Plus DHA Omega-3:
Horizon Organic Fat-Free Milk Plus DHA Omega-3 is the latest porduct to join the company's line of organic milk fortified with DHA Omega-3.  The new Fat-Free Milk Plus DHA Omega-3 provides sonsumers with the same healthy benefits of DHA-fortified milk, but with less fat and caolories.  It is the first and only fat-free milk product enhanced with DHA Omega-3 on the market.

What is DHA?

DHA belongs to a category of healthy fatty acids known as Omega-3's. It is a major structural fat in the brain and retina, accounting for up to 97% of the omega-3 fats in the brain and up to 93% of the omega-3 fats in the retina.1 Scientists agree that the more DHA is consumed in the diet, the more is available to support healthy function in these areas. DHA has also been shown to help support heart health.
DHA is especially important to kids, but according to pediatrician Dr. Alan Greene, "Most American kids are not getting the DHA they need. The typical three-year-old needs about 150 mg of DHA a day. On average, they are only getting about 19, mg, a tiny fraction of what they need for optimal brain growth."

All Horizon Organic Fat-Free Milk Plus DHA Omega-3 products are produced with Martek Biosciences' lifes' DHA, a vegetarian and sustainable source of plant-based DHA. It is also the only source of DHA currently used in US infant formulas and, because it's plant-based does not alter the flavor of the original milk product.

My Take:
I Love it!  I can finally eat cereal without feeling nautious after wards.  Okay, rewind a little bit, after getting pregnant with my daughter I suddenly had trouble drinking milk. I couldn't even eat cereal with milk on it without feeling like I was going to get sick after wards. Yes like you are probably thinking it was just because I was pregant, well to my surprise even after I had my daughter I still got that upset tummy feeling when I tried to drink milk or eat cereal.  I knew I wasn't lactose intollerant because I didn't have a problem with any other dairy product, just milk.  Well fast-forward almost 6-years later and here I am eating cereal like I was all those years ago.  The opportunity to try Horizon Organic Fat-Free Milk Plus DHA Omega-3 couldn't have come at a better time.  I would have never thought of trying a different type of milk before I received coupons to host a review.  So I am guessing (I can't confirm as I am not a milk professional) that there is something in regular milk, or something about the processing of it that my tummy just doesn't agree with.  This has been one review that I am very grateful to have been able to do. Thank you Horizon Organic for bringing cereal back to my mornings!
