Are you ready for spring? It's coming soon!

Spring is so close I can almost taste it! Okay maybe not taste spring exactly, but things that go along with spring like grilling on the patio. The birds have already started to make their way back and are chirping and we are supposed to have temps hit the 60's this week here in Indiana. So this girl will be going into full spring mode in no time! And that means lots of cooking, cleaning, and getting outdoors for this family!

To give myself a jump-start I've been prepping with these two really awesome books. Learning some new recipes for cooking out back (on our new griddle we got for Christmas) and for cleaning our home in a healthier way by not using cleaners with harmful chemicals in them. Both books are packed full of recipes and lots of great ideas for doing both. The essential oils book is going to come in handy at a class I help teach too because we are doing one on spring cleaning!

Now for that tasting it part I can say I really did taste it when this awesome package arrived from Happy Healthy. Happy Healthy frozen foods are Non-GMO, picked at peak ripeness and nutrient level and flash frozen right away to lock in freshness. Then they are neatly prepped and packed in a pre-portioned cup or bowl with other quality ingredients ready to be sold online and in stores. This process takes them 3-4 days whereas it takes most places 2-3 weeks. Now that's a bid difference when it comes to fresh fruit! You can find their foods both online and in multiple retailers so they are pretty easy to find.

And as for the taste, I would give them an A+. You can really tell that they take pride in quality ingredients when you taste their foods. Their overnight oats are really good and packed full of nutrients we all need. The best part is if you decide you want to include their products as part of your weekly, or daily, menu plan Happy Healthy now has a bundle program that you can have delivered weekly or monthly with your favorite items right to your door. I received my package and everything inside was still good and frozen upon receipt. They do a great job packaging it up to make sure it's not thawed out before it arrives at your doorstep. That means you get to decide when you want to thaw it out for use.

Now you might be wondering what socks have to do with spring am I right? Well, it's all about fashion of course. Come spring it's time to put away those thick and fuzzy winter socks! It might not be quite warm enough to go sock-free (especially for people like me that get cold feet easy), but it's at least time to go with something a little thinner, and a little brighter! And Bold Socks is here to help with their awesome selection of socks for men, women, and kids. They have everything from no show and ankle socks to dress socks and knee-highs. So they have you covered no matter what length of sock you prefer in the spring. And they have them in fun colors and patterns that everyone is sure to love. I know my daughter was over the moon with excitement when she saw these fun cat themed socks I got for her. She's worn them every time I've done laundry she likes them so much.

They would even make a fun addition to Easter baskets for the whole family!

Spring may mean warmer weather, but it also means more rain too. At least for us it usually does. And that means our pup Java isn't allowed to play outside quite as much. This dog mom just isn't into cleaning the floors multiple times a day from a muddy dog. So to make up for it I always try to have something a little extra special for her to enjoy indoors to keep her occupied. One of her favorites, and mine is the Treat Trap from Bullibone. It keeps her entertained for a long time as she tries to figure out how to get the treats out from inside of it. To us humans it's quite simple to figure out how it has to turn for them to fall out. But for Java it's a long span of her picking it up and dropping it over and over, and pushing it around with her nose trying to knock it over. Thankfully she's persistent and doesn't ever give up until those treats fall out. It's good for her to stay moving and fun for us to watch so really it's entertainment for the whole family.

She also likes to enjoy her original Bullibone and Spin-A-Bone treats to pass the time. Both are great distractions from the fact that she can't go outside and run. And as a dog mom I can rest easy knowing they help promote good hygiene as well as good mental and physical health.

Of course all that playing indoors on top of her winter coat not needing to be as thick means extra shedding. And that means hair on everything whether she's actually been on it or not. It just seems to float through the air and land exactly where you don't want it. For us that also means the cats are starting to shed more, so that's even more hair.

I'm not real keen on having pet hair on my clothes when I leave the house either. So when I heard about FurZapper you can bet I was all over trying them out.

FurZapper is a safe, re-usable, and effective pet hair remover that goes into your washer/dryer and gently removes pet hair from clothes, pet bedding, blankets and more. Just place the FurZapper into your clothes washer during your regular washing cycles, and it goes to work gently adhering to, and separating pet fur or pet hair from your clothing. While effective in the washer, it works fantastic in the clothes dryer along with your freshly washed laundry, often filling up your lint trap faster than ever.

The FurZapper is Reusable, Safe, and Effective.

1) Place the FurZapper™ Pet Fur remover with your laundry in your washer
2) Transfer your Laundry, and FurZapper into the dryer with your clothes
3) The FurZapper gently loosens and disposes of Pet Fur and Hair down your drain or into your lint trap
4) No need to wash the FurZapper- it is self-cleaning in your clothes washer so just throw it back in the washer for the next load!

I'm one of those people that firmly believes that "seeing is believing" so I did a little test for myself with the FurZappers I received. The photos you see above are of a blanket that had been on our love-seat where Java and the cats like to lay. As labeled the one on the left is before it was washed/dried using the FurZapper and the one on the right is after it was washed and dried. WOW! It removed nearly all of the pet hair. I couldn't believe how clean it came out. And let me tell you when I cleaned out the lint trap on the dryer I could immediately tell that it had more pet hair than usual in it. These things really do work wonders! If you have more than one pet I do highly recommend using two sets for maximum hair removal.

Well I hope after this post you're a little more excited about spring - it really will be here before we know it! (April 20th to be exact.)
