Does the idea of handing out candy at Halloween sometimes make you not want to participate? I know for us sometimes handing out candy means we end up with way too much candy leftover because we don't get very many trick-or-treaters. And more and more it seems like so many kids can't have candy for health reasons. That's why I was pretty excited to hear about The Teal Pumpkin Project™. It's an initiative from Food Allergy Research & Education that helps to raise awareness of food related allergies. Through the initiative they offer suggestions such as giving out non-candy treats so everyone that stops by your house on Halloween can participate. And to show that you're a participant they suggest you display a teal painted pumpkin with the words Teal Pumpkin Project on the front. Or you can also download their Teal Pumpkin Project logo to display too. I thought this was a wonderful idea and so did Peeps & Company® because they actually have several great Peeps and Mike & Ike themed products they are offering for those can't enjoy their usual candy treats for Halloween. I was actually sent a nice variety of them to share with you in my post as well as with the trick-or-treaters that visit my house on Halloween.
