QDOBA: Mexican Eats YOUR Way!

QDOBA recently opened four new stores in Indiana (Brownsburg, Whitestown, Lafayette and Mishawaka) and we were lucky enough to have one open really close to us! There has been one in West Lafayette on the Purdue campus for awhile now, but being that's where all the Purdue students are so I try to avoid the area at all cost. So having one outside of the campus loop in Lafayette I can easily visit is definitely a plus in my book. Especially after trying it out for the first time recently.

Once inside a QDOBA restaurant you'll find yourself approaching a long counter with a bar filled with lots of yummy smelling food. That's where you tell the employees what you want to order and exactly how to make it for you. It's kind of like going through a salad bar line, but someone does all the work for you. First you decide what outer layer you want for holding all of your fillings. This can be as simple as an empty bowl or one of the varieties of soft or hard shells. From there you decide what protein (meat) you want and then all the good stuff that goes on top. They have everything from rice, beans, sauces and salsas, lettuce, sour cream, cheese, and a few others. Honestly it was hard to decide when you're standing there and it all looks so good! But you do what you have to do and pick ALL your favorites. I mean why not get what you really want right?

And the end result looks a little something like this! Just as a quick little run down from top left to bottom right here's what we each got. Taco salad with a shell, taco salad in a bowl, grilled quesadilla, and and knockout tacos. Each entree has the meat and toppings we individually wanted. If you ask me that's the perfect way to order dinner. That way everyone is happy because they created their own meals. No more arguing that someone doesn't want the same meat or toppings that the others want like at a pizza joint. We had four entrees, four drinks, and even chips and queso all for under $50. And guess what? No one left hungry. Heck we even had chips and queso leftover to take home we were all so full from our main entrees. My daughter even had half of her quesadilla left that she took home.

The thing I really liked the most about QDOBA is that they make their ingredients fresh right there in the store. Their chips are hand cut and made in house daily. And let me tell you that quality stands out from those pre-made out of a bag chips you get at other restaurants.
