Light up the night with Lava

One thing that initially peaked my interested with these string lights is that they are battery operated. My daughter likes to have lights hanging all around her bed, but I've always been leery about using anything that plugs in that she might forget to shut off before she falls asleep. I know most are cool touch and don't get hot, but I am still not comfortable with it. So when I found these Star Shaped String Lights from Lava I was pretty excited. They require two AA batteries so you know there's not much power going to the lights, therefore you don't have to worry about them getting hot. Plus if they are left on you also don't have to ever worry about anything bad happening with electricity. The batteries are strong enough to make them nice and bright too. They rotate between seven different colors and are really neat hanging around her bed.

Lava® Star Shaped String Lights:
Illuminate your room, locker or other space with a strand of Lava® 12 count star string lights. These lights color change to 7 bright colors (blue, green, yellow, orange, red, purple and pink). They are battery operated and run on 2 AA batteries (not included). The lights are evenly spaced out on a 60-inch cord and are for indoor use only.

On the other hand what child should grow up without having at least one Lava Lamp? I know I had one in my bedroom. Does it make me nervous having it plugged in at night? Yes. But it's not dangling around her bed, and since I go to bed after her I just stop in her room and turn it off. I let my daughter pick out her favorite Lava Lamp and she chose the Glitter Chalkboard Lava Lamp. She's big on pink, and big on sparkles so it was really a no brainer for her. I have to admit it looks super pretty too when it's all warmed up and the glitter is floating around.
